I HAVE BEEN POSTED IN GENERAL MEDICINE FROM 14/04/2023 TO 12/06/2023

IN THIS BLOG I'M SHARING MY INTERSHIP WORK EXPERIENCE 

MY MEDICINE INTERNSHIP DUTY STARTED AND ENDED WITH UNIT POSTINGS. I WAS POSTED IN UNIT VI FOR THE FIRST AND LAST 15 DAYS OF MY MEDICINE INTERNSHIP DUTIES. 

These are some of the things i learnt during my unit duties  :- 

  • I did Vitals monitoring of op patients.
  • Learnt how to take history of patients coming to op
  • Learnt prescription writing for op patients and need for each medicine prescribed 
  • Leant how to evaluate/examine patient clinically based on history
  • Learnt how to manage cases in casualty 
  • Learnt IV cannula insertion 
  • Learnt Ryles tube insertion 
  • Learnt how to put foleys catheter and condom catheter
  • Drew ABG samples and venous blood samples for investigations 
  • Collected investigations reports from labs 
  • Written repeats and investigations in case sheets, did fever charting and updated soap notes
  • Learnt and typed discharge of many patients 
  • Learnt how to create pajr groups and kept a follow up of patients.
  • Learnt how to monitor a diabetic ketoacidosis patient.
  • Learnt how to taper the insulin infusion for DKA patient

The next 15 days I was posted in peripheral duties 
Those are 
ICU , NEPHROLOGY AND WARD.

ICU DUTY:
In ICU DUTY I have done monitoring of all the ICU and AMC  patients .
GRBS MONITORING of  all DKA patients
Assisted in cpr
Learned how to operate the ventilator 
Learned how to tapper the infusion for DKA pateint
Drew abg and venous samples
Put cannula in patients
Inserted ryles and foleys in required patients
Send investigations
Learned how to manage critically ill patients



WARD DUTY:
In my ward duties i have monitored the vitals and grbs of the diabetic patients 
I have made PAJr groups for every patient and updated them everyday
I have attended the ward rounds
Updated soap notes of every patient

NEPHRO DUTY:

In my nephro duty, I have monitored the dialysis patients who are admitted and patient who come for daycare dialysis.

Learned how to manage CKD patients

Learned how to manage high BP patients during dialysis

Assisted in central line placement

Performed ascitic  fluid tapping
